Pads and action feel good, and the pads seal, but it may need some minor adjustment for optimal play, though it should play out of the box. There are some signs of play, such as minor wear on the keys and surface nicks(see pics) but this clarinet has never been abused. There are no cracks that I can see, open or repaired, in the body. This magnificent machine produces low rumbling sounds that will rattle your roof, but at the same time sound so sweet that all the world will stop to listen.
